Transitioning Looks Different For Everyone Art Print

£10.00 GBP

While trans people might have experiences that unite us, there’s also a lot of differences - as with any group of people. One person’s transition might vary vastly from someone else’s, and neither is more “valid” than the other. Some trans men enjoy wearing makeup, and it’s ludicrous to be OK with cis men wearing makeup but to hold trans men to different standards. Some trans women will want breast implants and some won’t. Hormones are a necessity for some trans people and others might not want them at all.

Medically transitioning also affects us all differently, some trans masc people will grow facial hair with relative ease and some will struggle - same as with cis men. Socially transitioning is also different for all of us - we might grow closer to family and friends or they’ll make the error in no longer wanting to be associated with us because of our transness.

Transitioning is a unique experience for all of us, there’s no “right” way to do it and there’s no “correct” order to take the steps in. It’s a personal journey and part of what makes us so unique and beautiful.
