The Birth Of Mars Art Print

You probably recognise this as a reworking of Botticelli’s renowned painting The Birth of Venus.
I’ve had this idea for a while; with Venus lending her name to the female symbol, the male symbol is named after the planet Mars - I wanted to create something around that.
In this depiction Mars is a trans man, he is born from the sea, fully grown - just as Venus was. Trans people, regardless of our current point in transitioning, are fully complete human beings. We aren’t half formed or unfinished or lacking anything, we are just at different points of life or living a different existence than you might be used to.
My love of renaissance art may have inspired this piece, but I wanted to take that love and bring a modern outlook into my homage, to make it more personal and relatable to my life and the lives of other trans people.

This is an A4 (21cm x 29.7cm) art print ready to be framed or displayed however you see fit.
